Operating CNC Machine

NOTE: ONLY AUTHORIZED AND TRAINED PERSONNEL MAY OPERATE THIS EQUIPMENT. UNTRAINED PERSONNEL PRESENT A HAZARD TO THEMSELVES AND THE MACHINE.

  1. Wear safety glasses.

  2. Do not wear loose clothing or loose jewelry that may get caught on the CNC crevices or tracks.

  3. Consult your local safety codes and regulations before you operate the machine.

  4. Make sure the unit is connected to power. Check for coolant level and condition. Inspect enclosure is clean and presents no damage or scratches.

  5. Inspect tools, work holding, workpiece and air supply. Replace damage tools before operation. The inspections are necessary because they are beyond the scope and control of the CNC automation system.

  6. When operating be always aware of hazards associated with working with CNC machines. These include sharp edges, heavy lifting and chemical composition of materials.

  7. Make sure after powering the CNC start a set program to run the CNC.

  8. Place material that is going to be work inside bay vise and secure it. Improper clamped parts may be ejected and puncture the inclosure.

  9. Do not load any flammable material inside the CNC.

  10. For any reason never jump in or get inside the CNC machine to remove material or when CNC is running. This may cause severe injury or death.

  11. Never touch rotating cutting tools. These can cause serious injury.

  12. Be aware that when the CNC is running on automatic mode it requires the doors to be shut.

  13. Do not stick hands at the end of the debris conveyor.

  14. Wear or have a pair of hearing protectors available. CNC machines tend to be loud depending how fast they are spinning during drilling and cutting.

  15. Stop CNC to load and unload materials. Also, when changing cutting tools, stop CNC.

  16. Use appropriate gloves to remove processed material and for cleaning the CNC.

  17. Only clean CNC machine when the power is off never with the power on.
